The Atrium Learning Center's computer lab is located in the Library Building, Room LG 18. Students may drop in to the lab at their convenience during the days and hours the lab is open.
The computer lab schedule is posted on the bulletin board at the entrance to the learning center. It changes from semester to semester, so it is a good practice to check it on occasion.
Currently, there are 18 Mac computers and 68 personal computers for student use. These workstations have various software programs loaded on them along with internet access; however, they do not have cameras.
While working in the lab, students may seek assistance from computer tutors when registering for classes, navigating Brightspace or other CUNY platforms, using a scanner, retrieving files from a flash drive, or using the print management plus system to print documents.
Each user needs to use his/her assigned City Tech Active Directory (AD) account username and password or use his/her EMPLID as the username and password to log in to the computers. Since there is no time limit on how long a student may use a computer, it is suggested that he/she uses it to complete academic work.
When a student is participating in an online class or listening to an online video, he/she must wear headphones and place the volume at a reasonable level.
Students may print their papers, PowerPoint slides, Excel spreadsheets, or any other school-related documents. Currently, the limit is thirty pages per day, double-sided.
The center has a recycling bin. White paper refuse should be placed in that bin, not in the garbage can.
Cell phones, tablets, and laptops can be charged in the surge protectors located at the charging stations. Please do not plug any electronic devices into the wall outlets in the computer lab.
There are other computer labs available for student use on campus when the Atrium Learning Center is closed. Refer to the link for the Library and Campus Computer Lab schedule for each semester: TBA
