The NEST Center follows CUNY's holiday closure calendar as well.
The N.E.S.T. Resource Center is open to all active CUNY students, to provide resources to support their academic success. To confirm eligibility & receive services, students must complete our Intake Form once per semester.
Our Food Pantry serves students and their families by providing a variety of perishable and non-perishable products, such as fruits, vegetables, shelf-stable goods, frozen/refrigerated products and much more. To allow students agency in selecting their preferred products of choice, the N.E.S.T. Resource Center has adopted a market style pantry.
All items are free and students may visit the pantry once per week, by appointment Monday-Thursday, or during our walk-in hours.

The N.E.S.T. Resource Center reserves the right to contact you about the status of your appointment to verify your current enrollment as a CUNY Student and to reschedule your appointment based on changes to our office hours.
Resource Center Eligibility:
Students can sign-in once a day at the front of the office and take up to 3 snacks from the G&G shelves. We typically carry a variety of crackers, cereals, small microwave meals and fresh fruits. Available during regular business hours.
N.E.S.T. Community Wardrobe
Students may take up to any 3 items per visit, once per week. Students do not need an appointment to visit the wardrobe. The Community Wardrobe is open during regular business hours.
GreenMarket Bucks
These vouchers are equivalent to real money that can be spent at any GrowNYC Greenmarket or farmstand around NYC (50+ Locations). Students may receive $20 in vouchers in our office once a semester, and additional $20 for attending each Nutritional Workshop.
You may search for eligible places to redeem vouchers.
Hygiene & Wellness Shelf (H&W)
Students may sign-in once a day and take up to 3 Hygiene Items. We typically carry face masks, safe sex supplies, and wellness kits. H&W is available during regular business hours.
Fresh Food Bags (Seasonally)
Fresh Food bags are distributed to students on a first-come-first-serve basis once a week during our seasonal period in the 4th floor lounge. See “Upcoming Events” below for dates.
Grow NYC Nutritional Workshops (Seasonally)
Workshops are facilitated by GrowNYC to provide information skill building on healthy, and resourceful eating. See “Upcoming Events” below for dates.
N.E.S.T. Pop-Ups (Seasonally)
N.E.S.T. Pop-Ups are hosted outside of the Namm Cafeteria every Friday from 2:00-3:00pm. This acts as an additional opportunity to receive free groceries and other services outside of normal operating hours. See “Upcoming Events” below for dates.

Volunteering
The N.E.S.T. Resource Center relies on our Student Volunteers to help prepare our food distribution, keep our shelves stocked, and keep our space clean. Whether you need only community service hours or want to join our team, volunteering with us is a convenient and free way to help support our office and the entire CUNY community.
Food & Clothing Drives
The N.E.S.T. Resource Center will host Food and Clothing Drives throughout the year. Outside of our advertised drives, please contact our office before planning to make ANY donations. See “Upcoming Events” for current drives.
The N.E.S.T. Resource Center relies on donations for equipment and supplies, as we do not receive specific funding to support these kinds of items. Purchasing items on our wishlist is the most directly impactful way you can support the N.E.S.T. Resource Center through in-kind donation.
Items purchased from our wishlist ship directly to CUNY City Tech, exclusively for use or distribution at the N.E.S.T. Resource Center.

The N.E.S.T. Resource Center has compiled a hub of Resources for Food Access and Basic Needs. This document lists NYC resources for free food access, CUNY pantries and health centers, and supports for education, housing, immigration needs, transit, and work.
CUNY Campus Food Pantries are open to all active CUNY students. Find information about each CUNY pantry, organized by Borough, at CUNY Central's website. Be sure to contact them directly to make an appointment before going to campus. Bring your CUNY ID wherever you visit.
Who We Are
Our acronym N.E.S.T. stands for "Nutrition for Education & Student Achievement". The N.E.S.T. Resource Center is a college-based organization that works to combat food insecurity for the City Tech community and their families. Our funding is provided by student activity funds, individual donations, and grants from various community agencies and/or organizations whose focus is to support student success and wellness.
At the N.E.S.T. Resource Center, we recognize that to thrive academically, students must be as free of concern as possible, in order to focus on their educational endeavors. It is for this reason that we have adopted a holistic approach to servicing student needs.
