Alert Reporting & Intervention System

City Tech is moving our Early Intervention Alert System over to Navigate starting in Spring 2023. This will make it easier for faculty to send students feedback on how they're doing in class. You will be able to log in with your CUNYfirst logon information and click a few buttons to submit an alert for one or multiple students.

Alert categories range from positive ones about great in-class participation, to notification that attendance or coursework needs additional focus, to referrals to college services like tutoring or the Student Success Center coaches. In most cases, issuing an alert will generate an automatic email to the student(s), and often a direct follow-up from another campus office. You will also be able to track that your alerts have been responded to by a student service center. Faculty and staff can find much more information via Faculty Commons.

Suggested Syllabus Statement for Navigate Alerts

Throughout the semester, I may send you messages about how you are doing in this class. If the message indicates that there is something you need to work on, you may be contacted by the Student Success Center. A Student Success Center Coach will reach out to you by phone, text, and email to offer support and suggest additional resources to support your success in this course. I encourage you to respond and work with the Student Success Center to improve your performance in our class.

Classroom Visits

In order for students to take full advantage of our services, they need to know about them, and be encouraged to utilize them. We appreciate the support and partnership of faculty in doing this.
