New York City College of Technology, a senior college and minority serving institution located in the heart of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, is combining its strong background in preparing the next generation of technical and scientific workforce with the success of its current collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in preparing students in the field of Accelerator Science and Technology. The program supports the training of STEM students in Accelerator Research & Development (R&D) while addressing the technical developments at the Accelerator Science & Technology Department/Brookhaven National Laboratory/Department of Energy (ASTD/BNL/DOE).
Program duration and stipend: $8,000 ($500/semester for three semesters and $6,500 summer).
Activities (all covered):
Semester 1 and 2: workshops, seminars, and field trips
Summer: 10 weeks hands-on training BNL
Semester 3: publish and present your work at conferences, pass on the knowledge
to the next group of students, apply for jobs in the field
Deliverables: Poster, internal report, paper in student conferences, journals etc.
Eligibility: STEM student with legal status and GPA>2.9
