Post Tenure Reassigned Time Program
Assistant and Associate Professors may apply for three credits of release time via the Post Tenure Resigned Time Program (PTRT Program). Release time can be used during 2028 or 2029 academic year. The program follows the guidelines of the PSC-CUNY Research Award Program. Completed applications must include a three-page project description, an approval letter from their department chair, and an approval letter from their dean.
Assistant and Associate Professors may not apply to both the PSC-CUNY Research Award Program and PTRT Program.
City Tech faculty applying must:
Submit a City Tech NOI PTRT is required by November 9, 2026.
Submit application in Post Tenure Reassigned Time Program Grant Proposal System by December 1, 2026.

The Process
Faculty must submit a City Tech NOI PTRT for OSP to create a proposal record in Cayuse. City Tech faculty do not create records in Cayuse. Faculty must submit an application with letters via PTRT Grant Proposal System. City Tech OSP will review applications and will contact faculty member with feedback if any updates/changes are needed. If no changes are needed, OSP will approve the application after December 15. If changes are requested, OSP will release application back to you and you must re-submit application before 5pm on December 15th. The PTRT Grant Proposal System will close to faculty at 5pm on December 15th. The Cayuse proposal record will not be routed via Cayuse for approval since the application requires letters from the dean and chairperson.
