Safe Learning Environment

College Policies

On the college policies website you will find links to a number of the Federal, New York State, CUNY and City Tech policies and procedures most relevant to the life of the college community. The list is not exhaustive, but is intended to provide easy access to frequently sought policy and procedural statements. As new policies are promulgated and as those listed below are updated, we will reflect the changes on this page.

Title IX

Title IX Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulations prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination.

Enough is Enough

New York State Education Law Article 129-B, otherwise known as 'Enough is Enough' was signed on July 7, 2015 to combat sexual assault on college campuses. It requires all colleges in NYS to adopt a uniform definition of affirmative consent, defined as knowing, voluntary and mutual decision among all participants to engage in sexual activity.

New York City College of Technology is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters positive interaction among students. It is our goal to take a proactive role in the prevention of sexual misconduct and afford students guidance that encourages an understanding of policies, and life skills.

College Public Safety

The College Public Safety Department (NAMM Building Rm. 109, 718-260-5550) is responsible for campus safety and patrols the campus on a 24/7 basis. Public Safety information and policies, including a link to the campus crime statistics required under the federal Clery Act, can be found on the Department’s website.
