CMCE Department welcomes CUNY Explorer students. Throughout the Fall and Spring Semester the CMCE Department welcomed CUNY Explorer students to tour the department and learned about the majors and degree offering. Current students, alumni and faculty met with the CUNY Explorer students to answer their questions, speak about their educational experience and career opportunities. The CUNY Explorers program introduces middle and high school students to City Tech faculty and students, offering younger students a window into college academics and showcasing the colleges state-of-the-art facilities, technological equipment, and student life spaces.

City Tech's ASCE Team competed in several competitions from April 25-27th at the ASCE Student Symposium at New Jersey Institute of Technology, including the Steel Bridge, Surveying and Construction Institute competitions.

In the Media | Green Roofs Provide Coverage From New York to the Caribbean

Source: fs.usda.gov | Associate Professor Ivan Guzman (Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology) recently traveled to Puerto Rico as a U.S. Department of Agriculture science fellow, part of a program that strengthens educational partnerships with faculty and staff from Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Prof. Michael Boulis, P.E. Receives Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award

On April 27, 2023, Professor Boulis received the Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award based on student recognition of his achievements and service to the CMCE community. The award was presented at the CMCE Gala Dinner by the Dean of the School of Tech and Design, Dr. Gerarda Shields. Michael Boulis is a Civil Engineer?and President of TUT Engineering Services, which performs residential design, renovations, and general surveying.

City Tech School of Technology and Design Awarded $1.5M NSF Grant For New Scholarship Program

City Tech’s School of Technology and Design has been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the next six years to develop an S-STEM program providing scholarships to students enrolled in majors relating to the built environment.

Professor Anthony Cioffi, chair of City Tech's Department of Construction Management & Civil Engineering Technology, is the 2014 recipient of the Thomas C. Kavanagh Service Award, which is presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Metropolitan Section. This award recognizes a civil engineer who has rendered exceptional service and dedication to the profession.
