Since its inception in 1983, the Scholar on Campus Program at New York City College of Technology has celebrated the artistic, literary, research, scholarly, scientific and other achievements of selected members of faculty across the disciplines. Those honored have left indelible marks on fields as diverse as the engineering technologies, art and design, computer information systems, healthcare, hospitality, human services, literature, music, physics and other arts and sciences.

Scholar on Campus is a program of the College's Professional Development Advisory Council (PDAC). Established in 1980 to implement a comprehensive program of development for faculty and other professional staff, PDAC activities have included the Lunch and Learn Seminar Series, Partnerships for Employment and Writing Across the Curriculum conferences, computer literacy training for faculty and informational programs on learning styles, assessment of learning outcomes, academic advisement, technology and research, learning communities, teaching portfolios and student electronic portfolios. The council also provides funding to support a broad range of developmental activities planned and coordinated by other campus groups.

The biographical sketches included here are far from complete accounts of the careers and achievements of the faculty members named Scholar on Campus since 1994. But they do highlight the scholarly and other accomplishments that have earned them the respect of their colleagues.
