I already have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). What do I need to do to become a certified teacher? ANSWER: You would join the Transitional C Certificate Program. Here are the requirements: 15 credits in Education, that is 5 courses (3 credits each). These are labelled EDU. 10 credits in Clinical practice - that is 3 courses that are in the classroom: Internship Professional Development Seminar Student Teaching Passing the EAS and CST exams
I already have an Associate's degree in a trade (such as cosmetology, culinary arts) and have been working for 2 years. What do I need to do to become a certified teacher? ANSWER: You would join the Transitional A Certificate Program. Here are the requirements: School Commitment Letter You will obtain an Initial Teaching Certificate (valid for 3 years). 9 credits in Education, that is 3 courses (3 credits each). These are labelled EDU. Obtain a CTE Professional certificate (for tenure).
