The ADV (advisement) Hold is an essential step for incoming freshmen, set by the New Student Advisement & Registration office to kick off their journey at City Tech. It guarantees students meet with an advisor during their first semester, gaining vital guidance on course selection and completing their registration. This exciting milestone stays active until the upcoming semester, marking the start of an adventure in higher education.

After completing their first semester, students are required to schedule an advising session with their respective major department, which includes faculty or academic advisors specialized in their field of study.
