Mission

New Student Welcome at the New York City College of Technology provides programming that assists our newest community members as they transition to and learn to navigate the College's intellectual, cultural, and social climate.

Goals

In order to facilitate a smooth transition to the college community for new students, City Tech's New Student Orientation programming provides opportunities for participants to:

1. Meet new and continuing students, faculty, and administrators.
2. Learn about academic requirements.
3. Be introduced to student life.
4. Obtain information about campus and university policies and procedures.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of participating in New Student Orientation programming at City Tech, students will be able to:

• Articulate the academic requirements for their intended major.
• Demonstrate an understanding of community standards and their responsibilities as astudent in a collegiate community.
• Demonstrate the ability to use information on student support services and financial services.
• Formulate opportunities for engagement in co-curricular activities.
