Black Visual Cultures Minor
BE A PART OF AFR HISTORY
The Department of African American Studies' first academic minor is finally launched!
The Black Visual Cultures minor is available to all students in any academic major with 12 or more credits in General Education Flexible Common Core and the College Option Requirements. Students will be able to declare and begin working on academic minor courses, at the earliest, during their second semester of enrollment at City Tech. The minor encompasses a study of the history of traditional arts within Africa, the United States and the Caribbean such as painting, sculpture, and printmaking, in addition to topics that fall within our more expansive visual culture including the history of photography, illustration, the graphic arts, and media. In addition, there is also be a place-based learning component to the minor. For more information, please visit these links:
