Students: Schedule Your Exam
Center for Student Accessibility (CSA) Notice
Exam Scheduling Update – Summer 2026
Beginning in Summer 2026, the Center for Student Accessibility (CSA) will implement CUNY Accommodate for exam scheduling.
What this means for students and faculty:
- Students will submit all exam accommodation requests through CUNY Accommodate.
- Faculty will review and approve requests within the system.
- CSA will coordinate and manage exam proctoring through the platform.
Additional information, including step-by-step guides and training resources, will be shared prior to the start of the semester.
Scheduling Exams
At the beginning of each semester, you must initiate your semester via CUNY Accommodate to notify your course instructor(s) of your accommodations. Introduce yourself and confirm they have received your current semester accommodation letter via CUNY Accommodate.
All exams should be taken as close to the time the class meets on the day the class meets. If your exam is outside our proctoring hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm), please discuss with your course instructor an alternative date/time during our proctoring hours.
Steps to Schedule an Exam
The Testing Room option in CUNY Accommodate provides exam booking. This option is only visible to students with approved testing accommodations who have submitted a semester request for the current semester.
- Log on to CUNY Accommodate using CUNYFirst Credentials.
- Click on the "Testing Room" tab in the sidebar.
- Click on the "New Booking Request" button, located toward the bottom of the screen.
- Select the course you have your exam in from the "Course" dropdown menu. The page will then be reloaded. If your course is not there please contact the CSA via accessibility@citytech.cuny.edu and CC Testing Coordinator Jade Warrington - JADE.WARRINGTON85@citytech.cuny.edu to have your exam scheduled.
- Press the "Next Step" button and begin by selecting the date your exam will take place.
- For "Select a Space" select "City Tech L-237" which will lead to a drop-down menu of available exam times.
- From the dropdown menu, click on the "Request" button to the right of the space and time you selected. You will be asked to "Confirm Exam Booking" by reviewing the date, time, and place you selected. Please note, the earliest students will be able to book their exam for will be 9am as that is when the office opens and the availability for the testing room. Exams starting earlier will be modified by the testing coordinator after students submit their request for 9am.
- A popup window will appear. You may write the name of the exam/quiz using the space provided next to where "Exam (e.g. exam 2, quiz 4, etc.)" appears. If applicable, use the "Alternative Date/Time" section to let the CSA know that you have received permission from your course instructor to take the exam in question on an alternative date or at an alternative time.
- Click "Submit Request" to finish submitting your exam booking request. You will then see your request listed underneath "Pending Test Accommodation Appointment Requests". When the request is approved, you will see it listed underneath "Approved Test Accommodation Appointment Requests".
Please note:
Students are expected to take a test/quiz at the same time and date as the class. Alternate test dates and times can be requested but must be approved by your course instructor. Possible reasons a student may need to take their test/quiz at a different time than the class may include having back-to-back classes or having an evening course that occurs after the Center for Student Accessibility closes.
