Important Financial Aid Reminder

The time to file your award year 2018-2019 financial aid applications is approaching. Please file starting October 1, 2017. Do not delay

The 2018-2019 FAFSA and TAP applications (summer 2018, fall 2018, and spring 2019) will be available starting October 1, 2017. There are three applications:

First, complete the 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available at: www.fafsa.gov.

Second, complete the 2018-2019 New York State Tuition Assistance Program Application (TAP) through the link available on the FAFSA Confirmation Page or at www.tapweb.org.

Third, complete the CUNY Supplement Form if you are interested in applying for Aid for Part-time Study (APTS). The CUNY Supplement Form will be available on CUNYfirst (Student Service Center) by March 2018. See website for filing instructions http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/financial-aid/forms.aspx.

Use the IRS Data Retrieval option when you complete your FAFSA to transfer your 2016 income tax information to your FAFSA.

Tax year 2016 (January 1st to December 31st) income information is required, so you do not have to wait for tax year 2017 information.

Please go to the Financial Aid Web Lab in room NG-08A for assistance in completing your applications.  Check the financial aid website at: http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/financial-aid/.

 

We will send all communications to your City Tech Email Account. Check your City Tech Email Account regularly for:

  • Award Letter
  • Request for information (including verification)
  • Financial aid status
  • Notices
