Welcome to City Tech's School of Arts and Sciences! We are home to the departments of
African American Studies, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, English, Humanities,
Mathematics, Physics and Social Sciences. The School of Arts and Sciences offers degree
programs in professional and technical writing (BS), biomedical informatics (BS),
chemical technology (AS), computer science (AS), liberal arts (AA and AS), and applied
mathematics (BS) with concentrations in financial science, information science, and
natural science. Our faculty members are dedicated teachers and scholars who are active
in their fields and who excel at bringing that knowledge into the classroom.
The School of Arts and Sciences provides many enriching experiences outside of the
classroom. These include, college-wide conferences and poster sessions highlighting
faculty and student research, seminars and other activities to promote diversity and the
exchange of ideas, book signings and discussions by authors, and class trips to museums
and other cultural destinations in New York City. Our Emerging Scholars program provides
funding for students to conduct scholarly research and to be mentored by faculty members
while doing so. Many of our students have presented the results of their research at
conferences and published in refereed journals. Scholarship opportunities to qualified
students majoring in chemical technology, computer science and applied mathematics are
available through a National Science Foundation S-STEM grant.
Taking advantage of these and other opportunities while at City Tech will increase the
value of your education. We encourage you to explore the City Tech website to discover
more about the programs and opportunities available.
