City Tech Chemistry Professor Creates Innovative Tool for Distance Learning Being Used at Educational Institutions Across the U.S.
Associate Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Jay Deiner, is among a trio of scientists who have invented a tool that provides hands-on instrumentation experiences for students learning at a distance. First piloted in Chemistry courses at City Tech, this purpose-built invention has been adopted for use at Stanford University and Danville Area Community College, and for outreach curriculum development projects at Rice University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

City Tech Professors Awarded $569,635 National Science Grant to Support Manufacturing and Materials Science Teaching, Curriculum Development, and Research
New research and collaboration at City Tech are underway this year thanks to a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant of nearly $570,000 awarded to a team of researchers led by Dr. Gaffar Gailani, professor and Director of the Center of Medical Devices and Additive Manufacturing. The funding will support a three-year project aimed at technician training for advanced manufacturing and materials.

Cannabis to Cuisine: Kingsborough Community College and New York City College of Technology Awarded Funding to Create Credentials for the Culinary Cannabis Industry
Kingsborough Community College, in partnership with New York City College of Technology (City Tech), was awarded $1,028,512 by CUNY Workforce Development Training Grant/Contract Courses to support and enhance their existing hospitality and culinary arts programs with credential and micro-credential certifications in culinary cannabis.

On March 16, 2023, Dr. Nazanin Hedayat Munroe, Director of Textile Technology and Assistant Professor of Business & Technology of Fashion, led a tour of the College's new Textile Lab facilities for in Namm Hall, rooms 1121 and 1122.
