New Certification Application

Important Information

You are applying for the Summer 2025 semester.

Please Read Before Filling Out This Application

  • All coursework for which students enroll must be applicable to their degree at the college.
  • Students must be registered for classes before submitting this form.
  • Students must immediately report any changes in enrollment (add/drop/withdrawals) to the Veteran Certifying Official.
    (Please be advised, any reduction in credits may result in changes in eligibility for benefits even after disbursement has occurred)
  • Students are responsible for paying the college ALL tuition and fees which are not covered by their Veterans' Educational Benefits.
  • Students under the following Chapters 30 and 1606 must verify their enrollment with the VA every month in order to receive their monthly benefits by either visiting the WAVE website or by telephone (877) 823-2378.
  • New Students must claim their campus email as it is the expectation of the College that this e-mail is used for all College-related communications. For more information contact the Student Helpdesk (718)260-4900 or StudentHelpDesk@citytech.cuny.edu
  • New Students Must submit a copy of their DD-214 and Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to the Veterans Certifying Official at the Office of the Registrar NG 17.
  • Guest Students taking course at NYCCT as Non-Degree
    If you are seeking a degree at another school and are taking a classes at NYCCT, you are considered a "guest student." The institution where you are seeking a degree is your "parent" school. VA educational benefits cannot be paid to non-matriculated unless an approved “parent letter” is provided to the Certifying Official VACerts@citytech.cuny.edu

Supporting Document(s)

New students must upload a copy of their DD-214 and Certificate of Eligibility (COE). In addition, CH35 (Spouse/Dependents of Veteran) must provide the service member Social Security Number; for more information, please contact VACerts@citytech.cuny.edu. If documents are not received, your enrollment may not be approved.
