Admission Into NYCCT
City Tech, CUNY's senior college of technology, has a variety of special programs and offers a wide range of options to veteran students seeking a high-quality technology-oriented education. We have a large veteran population with over 200 enrolled veterans at last count. As a Veteran, you can apply to up to six of the CUNY colleges using a single application, listing your choices in order of preference. CUNY evaluates applications on a rolling basis, except for several special programs. City Tech will notify you directly if you are accepted to the college and will then communicate directly with you to prepare for enrollment. Requirements to be considered a Veteran at City Tech
- You have engaged in active duty in the U.S. Armed, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard)or as a member of the National Guard or Reserves who was called to active duty for purposes other than training, or were a cadet or midshipman at one of the service academies and
- You were released under a condition other than dishonorable discharge. Box 24 of the DD214 indicates the "Character of Service." If anything other than dishonorable appears in that box, you should answer, Yes to this question, as long as you engaged in active duty for at least one day. If "dishonorable" appears in that box, you should answer "No."
- Students currently serving in the Active Reserve Forces, or who are entitled to benefits accrued in the reserve component, while not technically veterans, are entitled to many benefits.
Resident Tuition Rates
Resident tuition rates apply to all members of the armed services on full time active duty who are stationed in New York State, as well as their spouses and dependent children.
