To be eligible for the associate degree you must complete a minimum of 60 credits. A minimum of 34 credits must be completed in residence; 17 of the credits completed in residency must be in your major department.
To be eligible for the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology degree you must complete a minimum of 120 credits. A minimum of 34 post associate degree credits must be completed in residence; 17 of the credits completed in residency must be from among those listed as “Required Courses in the Major” in the catalog description of degree requirements. All degree requirements must be completed within ten years from the date of your matriculation. Exception: dental hygiene and nursing students must complete their degree within five years of matriculation.
You must be in attendance at New York City College of Technology during the semester in which you complete your degree requirements. If one of your last courses is taken at another college (see courses on permit), you are subject to the following regulations: (a) you must secure a permit from the Registrar’s Office; (b) you may take no more than two courses on permit to complete your degree requirements; (c) you must take the last course within two years of the last date of attendance at New York City College of Technology.
Student should file for graduation in the semester that they expect to complete their degree requirements. Students must file a “Graduation Application” during the filing period according to your Academic Calendar. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for the approaching filing periods.
The Registrar’s Office begins the certification process after all final grades are submitted. All course substitutions, grade changes, & course exemptions processed for students must be submitted by your major departments to our office in order to complete your application for graduation.
