Learning Center

The ALC has fifteen Macintosh and more than one hundred windows-based networked-computer stations. The software library includes the following programs to help students overcome problems and increase their proficiency:

In addition to the above listed software two large programs have been installed on the network.

A.D.A.M. is a multi-part package which includes interactive anatomy(at a level which is appropriate even for medical school students) and also interactive physiology modules such as the cardiovascular muscular nervous respiratory and urinary systems.

PLATO includes tutorials drills and tests in reading writing basic math algebra calculus biology chemistry and physics.

Students may access the Internet from some stations in the Learning Center for help with research projects. Since the demand is always great for computer use there is a 1 ½ hour per day per student limit for Internet use. On Fridays and Saturdays, if the demand is not great, students may request additional time.
