What We Do

The Trans Fat Help Center is a free resource for all New York City food professionals.

We offer a variety of online resources including 0 grams trans fat product listings, detailed FAQs about the New York City trans fat regulation and web links. We also offer technical information on frying without artificial trans fat, baking without artificial trans fat and choosing prepared foods without artificial trans fat.  Brochures on artificial trans fat replacement are available through the mail and online in multiple languages.

Who We Are

The Trans Fat Help Center was developed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene with support from an educational grant from the American Heart Association. The Help Center was originally developed with assistance from faculty from the New York City College of Technology (CUNY), home to one of the leading professional culinary schools in the Northeast, as well as the American Heart Association, the American Institute of Baking, and other distinguished local and national experts in culinary arts and cultural food traditions.
