Employee Assistance Program
The Faculty and Staff Service Center was established in April 1987 to enhance the quality of life of City Tech's employees. This free, in-house, comprehensive service promotes the "wellness" of all employees, helps employees cope with problems of everyday life and provides opportunities for personal enrichment.
In addition to its commitment to promote the "wellness" of all employees, the college recognizes their quality of life and job performance can be affected by a wide range of human problems. When personal stresses are handled sensitively and confidentially, a harmonious work environment results.
The Faculty and Staff Service Center's threefold approach focuses on:
- "wellness"
- training
- counseling
In addition, the center's professional staff can provide information and referrals to employees and their families on a broad range of issues. These include:
- personal and family problems
- stress/burnout
- health difficulties
- alcohol and drug abuse
- financial management
- preparing for retirement
- caring for elderly parents
The center also presents lectures on such topics as:
- the single parent experience
- financial aid planning
- you and your aging parent
- chemical dependency
- stress management
