How to Obtain CUNYfirst Support

There are a variety of ways to obtain CUNYfirst assistance, either online, by phone, email or in person.  Here’s how:

Online Help

The easiest and fastest way to get help about CUNYfirst is online. The City Tech CUNYfirst site contains help files, tutorials and FAQs that can assist you.

CUNY has a training website for the step sheets, documents and videos that will assist you as you begin to perform transactions. Go to: and click on the Training link on the left.

When logged into CUNYfirst, you will also have access to the firstSolutions Knowledge Base through a link on your CUNYfirst home page. This tool has a wealth of information about CUNYfirst.

Assistance by Telephone

If the online help does not answer your question or you need someone to guide you through a solution, you can call the Student Computing Help Desk at 718-260-4900.

Assistance by Email

Send email to  Make sure to include your contact information, your CUNYfirst username and emplid if available, and a clear, detailed description of the problem you’re having. If you are able to include a screenshot that shows the problem with your description, that’s even better.

Keep in mind that the Help Desk may not be able to respond to your email right away, especially during off hours.

In Person Assistance/Walk-in Support:

Please visit the Student Computing Help Desk (Atrium Welcome Center) where you will be directed to staff who can assist.
