for Graduating Students
Welcome to the New York City College of Technology (City Tech) Alumni Association website. A new site is currently in development that will make it even easier for alumni to take full advantage of all privileges offered to the more than 81,000 graduates of the College. These privileges affirm City Tech's belief that its services to its students do not end at Commencement. Learning is a lifelong process and the College aims to enrich the lives of all who have earned their degrees here long after they have put away their caps and gowns.
The City Tech Alumni Association was established in 1947 to help promote the interests and well being of the College, its students and alumni. Association programs and related activities serve to cultivate interest and encourage involvement in the larger life of the College on the part of graduates and other former students.
These programs provide assistance with career development and facilitate access to City Tech's Placement Office and other support services. Association-sponsored activities provide alumni with a variety of valuable networking and other opportunities to promote good fellowship. Reduced- and low-cost services are available to all alumni through the College's Dental Hygiene and Eyeglasses Clinics, and the Immigration Clinic offers free advice and referrals to alumni with immigration-related issues.
A new Facebook page enables alumni to easily communicate with the College and one another. Go to Facebook and search for New York City College of Technology. "Upcoming Events" (PDF format) provide all the information you'll need to take advantage of hundreds of special events and other activities hosted at the College and open to the public. You can also gain immediate access to news and events at the College by following City Tech News on Twitter.
New degree programs recently added, such as the new baccalaureates in Architectural Technology, Nursing, Health Services Administration and Industrial Design Technology, or soon to be introduced (Emerging Media Technologies should be launched by fall 2010 and Technical Writing, Medical Laboratory Technology and Radiologic Technology – at the baccalaureate level – are on the near horizon) provide alumni with additional opportunities to enhance their education. Hundreds of Continuing Education courses and programs provide even more learning opportunities in an expanding range of subject areas – opportunities to upgrade existing and acquire new knowledge and skills. Many of these programs lead to certification and licensure.
Until a new and more comprehensive Alumni Association website is up and running, continue to access information about the benefits of being a City Tech graduate through the menu at the left of this message. Through "Keep in Touch," you can easily update your records and share your thoughts on how City Tech can better serve its alumni. And be sure to click on the links at the right to access the College's Connections newsletter and learn all about upcoming special events for alumni.
