The New York City College of Technology Alumni Association was established in 1947 to help promote the interests and well being of the college, its students and alumni. Association programs and related activities serve to cultivate interest and encourage involvement in the larger life of the college on the part of graduates and other former students. Among these programs are those that provide assistance with career development and facilitate access to the college's employment and other support services. Association-sponsored activities provide alumni with a variety of valuable networking opportunities and other special events designed to promote good fellowship.
Among City Tech's alumni are tens of thousands of men and women who have made substantial contributions in the areas of advertising, architecture, business, communications, computer systems, education, engineering, the entertainment technologies, finance, health care, human services, hospitality, law, nursing, the physical and social sciences, public service, telecommunications, the fine and performing arts, and many other fields. More than 1,000 graduates are or have been organizational CEOs or owners of their own businesses.
Membership in the City Tech Alumni Association is open to graduates and former students of the college's forty-three baccalaureate, associate and specialized certificate programs. The association encourages all members to continue to pursue educational opportunities wherever they exist and energetically promotes their active involvement in perpetual learning. It also promotes alumni involvement in mentoring programs for current City Tech students and other young people throughout the larger community.
