Greetings fellow alumni!
As a proud graduate and friend of City Tech, I am excited to come back to my alma mater. Our time at City Tech was some of the most formative, important years of our lives. It was then that many of us took the last big step that separated the child from the adult. It was then that we discovered just how big the world really is, and how we might fit ourselves into it. We met good friends then – many that will last a lifetime – and learned both the pain and joy of belonging to something bigger than ourselves. And for some of us, it was the time we realized that we deserved more and City Tech could help us achieve that.
Part of the task we take on in the Alumni Association is to maintain the link between you and that time in your life. We organize various networking and social events. Check out a list of our Past and Future Events. We provide Benefits and communications (tell us how well you’ve done with your City Tech education and we’ll spotlight you) that keep you in touch with classmates and make it possible to meet grads from other years. We invite you to hear today’s most awe-inspiring professors and successful alumni as they discuss issues that matter to you and your family.
At the Alumni Association, we’re also aware of our responsibility to our alma mater. City Tech’s graduates are its most valuable asset. As ambassadors in your communities, as advocates for post-secondary learning, as mentors to today’s students, as governance and policy advisors and, yes, as financial supporters, alumni need ways to connect to the College’s business. Our organization is dedicated to this task, and to this end we are bringing City Tech to you, organizing events in the five boroughs and outside of NYC, including the discounted Defensive Driving Course in N.J. sponsored by Liberty Mutual. We are also in the midst of traveling across the country to reconnect with you. Our first stop was in Chicago. Our next stop is Florida. Where else should we visit?
The Latin origin of the word ‘Alumni’ means “Nourished Ones”. We are nourished by the knowledge we received at City Tech and nourish others by giving back to the College. Please take advantage of our free membership and Keep in Touch. Get involved in our events and programs, reconnect with classmates, and help City Tech in its mission to provide the very best education to its students.
