David Barthold '06, President
David Barthold is a 1981 Graduate of Oberlin College. In 2004 he enrolled at City Tech and graduated in 2006 with an AAS in Restorative Dentistry.
During his time as a student at City Tech, Barthold was active in volunteer work for his department, and received the Alumni Association's Scott Reisenberg award in his senior year.
Barthold went on to work for two of New York's most distinguished prosthodontists, Burney Croll and Daniel Budasoff. In 2010 he returned to City Tech to become the College Laboratory Technician for the Department of Restorative Dentistry, and in 2012 became president of the City Tech Alumni Association.
Sonya Warren '96, Vice President
After first taking an associate's degree in electrical engineering technology in 1993, Sonya Warren later graduated from City Tech as the Valedictorian of the class of 1996 with a BA in telecommunications technology.
Having served in a variety of capacities in the communications field Warren is currently employed as eligibility specialist (ESII) in the NYC Human Resources Administration's Medical Insurance & Community Services Administration and as a Department of Citywide Administrative Services monitor.
"It was a no-brainer for me to decide to continue on into my Bachelor's degree at City Tech. My professors took an interest in me and helped change my life. For them and my City Tech family, I have nothing but respect and gratitude."
Debra Alago '95, Secretary
After earning an associate’s degree in Food and Beverage Management in 1993, Debra Alago graduated in 1996 from City Tech with a Bachelor’s degrees in Technology and Hospitality Management. She is currently employed as an Executive Chef and Food Service Manager at the Professional Children’s School, as well as working as an independent consultant for the Child Care Network of New York. Growing up in the Bronx, Debra dreamed of becoming a Pastry Chef. She worked at various bakeries and restaurants before coming to City Tech in 1991. She has particularly fond memories of working with Professors Constantino, Colora, and Professor “Papa” Panzarino. Says Alago, “Food service (front and back of the house) has always flowed through my veins”.
Gerald Singh '85, Treasurer
Gerald graduated from City Tech's accounting program in 1985, going on to earn an MBA and becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
He is currently an assistant professor with City Tech's Department of Business as well as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Business & Economics at St. John's University. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accounts and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant. At City Tech, he serves as treasurer of the Alumni Association, is a member of College Council, supervises the City Tech Tax Clinic and is an Accounting Society faculty advisor.
