Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This program assists exceptionally needy students and is intended to supplement other forms of financial aid. Because it is a grant, it does not have to be repaid. To receive FSEOG, you must be registered for a minimum of six (6) credits or equated credits and must meet the same eligibility requirements for federal student aid as described in the section on PELL specific eligibility requirements.
You apply for FSEOG by completing a FAFSA application. There is no question asking if you wish to apply for FSEOG. You are automatically considered for this award if you ask for FWS or Federal Perkins Loan. The amount you receive depends on your financial need i.e. the amount of money budgeted to the program.
