Mission
Public Safety is a service-oriented unit and we treat everyone in a professional manner, with civility, while maintaining the established rules and guidelines that ensure the safety and security of all persons at the college.
We can be reached twenty four hours a day, seven days a week either at our office or by telephone number (718) 260-5550. (From a campus phone dial 5550, or 5555 in an emergency). Please call us, or approach any Public Safety Officer, to report an incident or an emergency. We are here to serve you.
Safety is the responsibility of all of us, and we need your help in this important function. If you see something, say something. If you are subjected to unwelcome attention from another member of the community or if you encounter a situation with the potential of becoming violent, please let us know immediately. Calm, professionally-trained Public Safety officers can find answers quickly.
Law enforcement is only a portion of our duties. We place strong emphasis on educating our officers to enable positive interpersonal communication with our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Our officers are friendly, professional and always ready to serve the college community. Everyone is encouraged to visit our office for service or information, as well as to address safety and security concerns. We welcome your cooperation.
