In learning communities a small group of new first-year students, usually with the same major, take 2-3 classes together. The learning is integrated, providing a context within which college level skills are sharpened, and a strong sense of community is created, strengthening the learning of all.

Honors Scholars have the opportunity to take part in special activities such as seminars, workshops, field trips, social events, research opportunities and enriched coursework for honors credit. The Honors Scholars Program requires a minimum GPA of 3.4 and completion of 16 or more credits.

For students who meet both academic and income eligibility criteria, SEEK provides valuable support. SEEK participants receive counseling, mentoring and tutoring, and additional financial support. Students apply to SEEK at the time that they first apply to the College.

Students can participate in any of a wide range of Study Abroad programs around the world sponsored by or endorsed by CUNY. Federal and state financial aid can often be used toward the expenses of Study Abroad programs.

Aside from federal and New York state financial aid, students can apply for a wide range of scholarships. Some are awarded by the City Tech Foundation and others are through grants to the College, through governmental agencies like the National Science Foundation.
