Career and Technical Teacher Education
The Career and Technical Teacher Education program at New York City College of Technology provides a career development approach to the preparation of CTE subject teachers. It leads to the Initial and Professional Certificates valid for teaching specific CTE subjects within the career fields of family and consumer sciences, health occupations, and trade and technical occupations in grades 7 through 12. The program also leads to the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Education.Individuals who have relevant education/training and experience in the following specific career and technical areas can apply for admission to the Career and Technical Teacher Education program and complete the coursework requirements for New York State teaching certification and/or the BS in Education degree:
