The Department of Social Science offers courses in anthropology, economics, geography, government, history, philosophy, psychology and sociology. Students do not apply for admission to the Social Science department. The courses in the department are part of degree-granting programs. They also satisfy requirements for Core curriculum in philosophy, and the behavioral or social sciences. Students should be guided in selecting courses in the department by the statement of requirements for the specific programs in which they are enrolled.
