The School of Arts and Sciences, which offers a variety of Associates and Bachelor's Degrees, is home to the departments of African American Studies, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, English, Humanities, Mathematics, Physics and Social Sciences. Our dedicated faculty members are scholars who are active in their fields of expertise. To provide enriching experiences outside of the classroom, we have organized college-wide events including research poster sessions that highlight faculty and student accomplishments and discoveries, conferences that promote diversity and commemorate Black Solidarity Day, African American History Month, a Career Exploration Series, conferences on Biotechnology, and author book signings and discussions. Our classes often visit museums and other cultural destinations. Opportunities for students to conduct research, some with stipends, are also available. Many of our students have presented the results of their research at conferences and published in refereed journals.
