Nursing
Professor Lynda M. Konecny received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, cum laude, and Master of Science in Nursing, with a minor in education, from Hunter College. Her academic honors include: membership in Phi Theta Kappa, National Honor Fraternity of Junior Colleges, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, and she maintains a current listing in Who's Who in Professional Nursing and Who’s Who in American nursing. She holds a certification in coronary care nursing. Her more than 37 years of clinical nursing and 30 years of formal teaching experience provide her students with rich nursing knowledge.
Included in her professional teaching portfolio are coronary care certification classes and NCLEX-RN nursing reviews for the National Nursing Review in Los Altos, California. Professor Konecny has appeared as guest lecturer in baccalaureate nursing programs and served for five years as chairperson of St. Vincent's Hospital, School of Nursing, Advanced Medical-Surgical Nursing Department.
Professor Konecny has taught numerous academic courses on professional dimensions in nursing, focusing on the nurse's role in the clinical management of patient care.

Currently serving as an associate professor at New York City College of Technology, CUNY, she is the coordinator of acute care nursing. She teaches in the associate nursing program, the third semester medical-surgical class, "Caring for Clients with Complex Alterations in Survival and Functional Needs" and in the baccalaureate program, the nursing elective, “Family Centered End-of-Life Care Across the Lifespan”.
Professor Konecny is an active member of the Nurses Advisory Committee for the American Cancer Society, Staten Island Chapter, and serves as a parish nurse at Trinity Lutheran Church, Staten Island. She is also a legal consultant for malpractice attorneys in New York State.
