- ACT Compass Mathematics Test:
The mathematics department offers a full range of courses, from non-credit ones for students whose mathematics preparation is insufficient for credit-level work to those designed for students in all degree programs at the college. Initial placement in mathematics courses is determined by the student's score on the ACT Compass Mathematics Test. The department seeks to provide students with the firm foundation in mathematics necessary for their careers as well as for today's increasingly technological society. It is the goal of the department to provide the student with an understanding of the methodology of mathematical thought.
