The Department of Human Services offers students the opportunity to choose from an associate in applied science degree and a baccalaureate degree in human services, and a certificate program in child welfare.
In collaboration with the Division of Continuing Education, the human services department also offers preparatory courses to students seeking to meet the New York State Credentialing Examination to become alcoholism and substance counselors (CASAC).
The department has professional affiliations with over 100 social and health agencies in areas such as:

- Juvenile Justice Services
- Legal Services
- Long-Term Care Facilities
- Rehabilitation/Habilitation Centers
- Social Services Programs
- Substance Abuse Services
Opportunities exist to work in partnership with other departments and community-based agencies.
