Dr. Christine W. Thorpe is an assistant professor in the Human Services Department at New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn, New York. She is also a cultural competence trainer for the Harold Freeman Patient Navigation Institute in Harlem, New York. Dr. Thorpe is a certified wellness coach and health education specialist with over 10 years of combined experience as a health educator, administrator, and consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Syracuse University, a Master of Education degree in international educational development and a Doctor of Education degree in health education from Teachers College Columbia University.
Her research interests include health disparities among communities of color, women's health and wellness, personal health maintenance and self-care, and holistic nutrition. Dr. Thorpe has publications in mainstream magazines including The Network Journal and Healthy Horizons. She enjoys educating and inspiring students to attain their highest goals and to live their best lives.
