Joanne Lewin-Jacus is currently teaching baking and pastry Arts course at City Tech, while completing her degree online with CUNY. Her passion for the food service industry began when she worked in all facets of the family’s off premise catering business. Professor Jacus earned an associates degree at the Culinary Institute of America, worked for Hyatt Corporation before and after working two years in Switzerland and Germany. Other baking and pastry experiences include co-owning and managing retail pastry shop, research and development, airline desserts, and bakery production manager for a belgian company and in an Atlantic City Hotel. She currently is involved with research and recipe development with the NYC Department of Health Trans Fat Help Center located at City Tech.
