Professor Louise Hoffman teaches pastry and confectionery arts at City Tech. She graduated from Alfred University's College of Ceramics with a BFA and later earned an associate's degree in occupational studies from the Culinary Institute of America. For most of her life she has been driven by the culinary world. She spent ten years cooking in three-star restaurants, working her way up to the position of chef. For the past five years, she has been studying and teaching confectionery art techniques.

In addition to coaching the hospitality management department's pastry arts team in an annual international competition, Professor Hoffman participates in several shows each year. In February 2002, she earned a bronze medal in the 13th Annual United States Pastry Competition. She shares with her City Tech students an abundance of knowledge from all the teachers and experiences she has had.
