John Akana

Professor Akana started his career in the Food and Beverage Industry as a Gourmet Food and Wine Buyer for a major retailer and later owned and operated a bakery, cafe and catering operation in his hometown of Kailua, Hawaii. In addition he has worked as a Program Budget Analysis for the State of Hawaii and a Research Economist for the Hawaii State House Committee on Tourism. Before coming to City Tech he was a Financial Consultant at Company Model Management and served as the Assistant Director of Education at the French Culinary Institute; both located in New York City.
