Maria-Elena Bilello is an assistant professor who teaches Oral Histology and Embryology, is clinical instructor as well as being fourth semester clinic coordinator. She graduated from Farmingdale State College with a Baccalaureate of Science in Dental Hygiene followed by a Master of Science in Public Health from Touro’s College of Health Sciences, Bay Shore Long Island campus. She has been an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Actively participating at the state level. She has received awards for life-long learning and for mentorship both from the Dental Hygienist’s Association of the state of New York. She is also a member and former secretary/treasurer of the New York State Dental Hygiene Educators’ Association and a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the dental hygiene honor society.
With a passion for promoting student success, she has helped to develop the dental hygiene tutoring initiative. She has been both a First Year and Fourth Year Faculty Fellow in the general education grant A Living Laboratory: Revitalizing General Education for a 21st Century College of Technology which is complemented by her work as department representative on the college-wide General Education Committee.
