The Internship Program

The CST Department offers an internship program to help students build a bridge between education and real applications. It is a 3 credit course in the BTech degree in Computer Systems.

The objective of the internship is to give students the opportunity to:

• interact with knowledgeable and experienced professionals,
• gain hands-on experience  in their chosen field,
• discuss their professional plans with their internship supervisor, and
• develop professional relationships.

Internship Sites

Students have successfully done their internships in large, medium, and small companies, i.e. Goldman Sachs, MTA, Versace, NYSE, and Union Settlement  Houses, to name a few.

Many students have performed very well and upon graduation, have gained employment at their internship site. It is a valuable experience to jump-start a career.

Requirements

To qualify, a student must meet the minimum requirements as stated in the catalog. The CST internship coordinator will work closely with students and businesses in establishing an internship relationship.

Students must complete a minimum of 120 internship hours within a semester. For those students who are currently working in the IT field, they may register for the team project course. However, students are required to get permission from the department.
