Professional Experience and Research
Dr. Behzadan has worked as a graduate researcher on the application of advanced simulation, visualization, and tracking technologies in construction. He has developed ARVISCOPE, an augmented reality based system capable of visualizing simulated construction operations in real time. Using GPS and head tracking data communication, ARVISCOPE provides an interactive visualization environment in which the scene observer can navigate inside the augmented space and study a simulated operation from different perspectives. The findings of his research have great potential in areas such as process planning, construction personnel training, construction site safety, damage prevention, work progress monitoring, and remote sensing of construction site date. From 2000 to 2003, Dr. Behzadan has worked as a project engineer for a local office of SETEC BATIMENT, a well known international construction firm based in France, on a high rise construction project in Tehran, Iran. In 2003, almost a year before starting his graduate studies at the University of Michigan, he joined a business investment company as an investment analyst.
