Research Interests:

  • Stem/Progenitor Cell Research: Isolation of progenitor cells from human and rat hippocampuss. Generating adult and fetal stem cells. Analysis of cellular models in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Establishment of organotypic hippocampal slices in culture and studying the effect of NMDA receptor antagonists in regulation of cellular phosphorylation-dephosphorylation balance. Studying the effect of growth factors in modulating the neurogenesis in animal and cell models and the effect of molecules in signal transduction. Role of tau phosphorylation by glycogen synthase kinase-3ß in tau-dominated small caliber and effect on subcellular organnels
