Professor Maldonado specializes in high-end residential design targeting unusual dramatic or difficult sites. His professional experience has also included design for airports, college buildings, medical and commercial facilities. His designs have been built throughout the United States, as well as in England and Germany. A number of projects have been featured in professional publications.

Professor Maldonado played an important role in obtaining landmark designation for the Tudor City Historic District. He continues to work with this community in Manhattan. He also collaboratedon the design for a surgical center in EL SALVADOR for MEDICAL MISSION INTERNATIONAL

He serves on the Board of Directors of the NY Society of American Registered Architects.
