Professor King holds degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, all from the City College of New York. A Brooklyn native who grew up on the shores of Coney Island, Professor King began his career working as an Architect for Davis Brody and Associates. As an Architect, Professor King was assigned to projects early in the design process guiding the development of CADD based documents to the completion of bid documents. Projects include Hudson Tower at Battery Park City, Cornell Biotechnology Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Lincoln Center North Building & Juilliard School, Zechendorf Towers, Brooklyn Polytech Library at Metrotech, S.U.N.Y. Buffalo Science & Mathematics Facility and Cornell University Primary Teaching Facility and Research and Veterinary Hospital.
A pioneer in the implementation of Computer Aided Design within the profession of Architecture, Professor King opened his own consulting firm CADD Management Consulting in 1991 providing consulting services to Architects, Landscape Architects, Engineers, and Facilities Managers. In recent years in addition to working on Architecture projects Professor King has focused his efforts on several large scale Landscape Architecture projects including Stanford University's' Science and Engineering Quadrangle in Paolo Alto California and Hudson River Park in New York.
Professor King is currently serving as President of the New York Council of the Society of American Registered Architects.
