Admission Requirements

Course Admission notices are mailed when the required minimum enrollment is achieved and all tuition and fees have been paid. If you do not receive notice at least three working days prior to class, call 718.552.1170.

Course Cancellation

The Center reserves the right to cancel any course or modify the schedule. This can also include cancellation at the first class meeting. In the event of such a cancellation, you will receive a full refund of all tuition and fees.

Authorized Installment Payment Plans

Several courses and crograms have been identified as eligible for a tuition installment plan. All payments on authorized installment plans must be made by money order or credit card only.

Delinquent Installment Payments

The Center reserves the right to withhold the privileges of class attendance, use of facilities and services, and access to records of students delinquent in paying tuition and fees.

Withdrawal Refunds

Tuition refunds are issued under the following conditions:

100% refunded when a written withdrawal notice is received prior to the first class meeting.

80% if a written notice is received before the Second class meeting.

No refunds are given after the 2nd class meeting.

Please note: For classes less than 200 hours, there is a fee of $25 charged for withdrawals once classes begin.

If you give a withdrawal notice by telephone or otherwise withdraw without written notification, you will not receive a refund.

Certificates

College certificates for successful completion are issued on request to all eligible students.

Letters of Attendance

For obtaining a letter confirming attendance or to re-issue a certificate, write:

There is a $5 fee for this service.

Class Meetings & Attendance

Unless you are notified otherwise, all courses will start according to the schedules listed in the bulletin.

An instructional hour is 50 minutes in the Continuing Studies Center except where specifically noted in the course description. Successful completion requires 80% attendance and an overall passing grade or mark.

Financial Assisstance

No college based financial aid is available. The Continuing Studies Center accepts duly authorized vouchers from public agencies, unions and private organizations. Please also note that several programs are approved for Veterans' Benefits. Students who meet Federal, State and City income guidelines may be eligible for Workforce Investment Act assistance for selected programs.

Physical Activities

Students who enroll in courses involving physical activities do so with the understanding that New York City College of Technology is absolved from responsibility and/or liability for personal injury and loss or damage to personal property.

Tae Kwon Do, Weight Training & Aerobics; registrants are recommended to get a medical clearance from a physician before starting these programs.

Discounts

Senior Citizens 65 years and older, full-time New York City College of Technology (NYCCT) faculty/staff, and current full-time NYCCT students are eligible for a 10% tuition discount on a space available basis. The discount does not apply to the following: Welding, Computer Office Skills Program, Computerized Accounting, PC Support and Networking Technologies and Medical Office Associate Program, and all courses with tuitions of $100 or less.

Registration Fee

A $20 non-refundable registration fee will be applied at checkout. If you plan to take more than one course, we encourage you to register for all during one transaction to avoid paying separate $fees on additional transactions.

Free Training Program Eligibility

Individuals who have previously completed a free training program in the Continuing Studies Center are not eligible to take another free training program. We appreciate your cooperation.
