City Tech Veterans Students Join CUNY Counterparts in Veterans Day Parade
New York City College of Technology Student Veterans Club members were well represented at the 2007 Veterans Day Parade on November 11. Veterans groups from around the world helped put on the nation's most spectacular Veteran's Day Parade, as floats, marching bands, military vehicles, active service personnel and veterans again staged a proud salute to all who have gone to battle in defense of freedom. The parade was first held in 1929 and commences with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame in Madison Square Park.
Pictured here, among others, atop the CUNY float are New York City College of Technology Student Veterans Faculty Advisor Paul Schwartz and City Tech veteran students Cathy Cortijo, Compton Grose, Omari Rose and AJ Luna. Proud to have served their country, the City Tech and other CUNY vets are just as proud of the many efforts The University is making to promote the academic success of an increasing number of veterans enrolling at its community and senior colleges citywide.
