Culinary Arts Scholarship Winners Named

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) hospitality management program student Theresa Gwizdaloski, left, has been awarded the 2008 Les Dames d’Escoffier/International Culinary Center’s “Make a Difference Scholarship” valued at $40,000. Over the course of several months, Gwizdaloski will study for 10 weeks at the Italian Culinary Academy in New York City, then for nine weeks at the International School of Italian Cuisine in Parma, Italy, and finally work for another 9 weeks in the kitchen of a noted restaurant in Italy. She is pictured here with acclaimed restaurateur and celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich, center, and Food & Finance High School student Elizabeth Ubinas, right, who was awarded another Les Dames d’Escoffier scholarship through C-CAP and will attend City Tech beginning this fall.
