Web Course Students Miki Masuda and Solomon Doley Take Top Kionic Website Design Awards

CUNY BA student Miki Masuda, above right, whose home college is City Tech and who will be graduating in June 2010, has been named recipient of Kionic’s fall 2009 Best Website Design Award for “Road Trip USA 2009 with Toyota Prius.” Student Solomon Doley, left, was named Most Promising New Web Designer in the contest.

“Congratulations to Miki Masuda and Solomon Doley,” says Advertising Design & Graphic Arts Assistant Professor Dan Wong. “Their websites were selected from over 100 competing student sites and their execution shows true talent and commitment to web design practices.”

Professor Wong’s specialty is web design. He, together with other ADGA faculty members and representatives from Kionic.com, juried the competition. The awards are offered each semester to all students enrolled in web design courses at City Tech. Masuda’s award-winning site, which recounts her 35-day road trip across America during summer 2009, can be viewed at www.roadtripusa2009.net/. Doley’s work can be viewed at www.solomondoley.com.
