6th Annual City Tech Faculty & Student Research Poster Session

The Organizing Committee

The 6th Annual Poster Session at New York City College of Technology was held on November 13, 2008. Funded in part by the City Tech Foundation and open to the College community and general public, the event provided faculty and students with an opportunity to showcase the results of their research.

The poster session spotlighted work in the areas of architecture, the biological sciences, chemistry, computer systems and computer engineering technology, engineering technology, English, the health sciences, hospitality management, the humanities, mathematics, psychology, physics and the social sciences. Some presentations were cross-disciplinary.

The annual Poster Session has become a tradition at City Tech and a way of highlighting the research achievements of faculty and students. The event has grown year after year, with 85 presentations featured last fall. The organizing committee consisted of Professor Roman Kezerashvili, chair, Professors Renata Budny, Candido Cabo, Aparicio Carranza, Boris Gelman, Victoria Gitman, Camille Goodison, Daniela Viviana Vladutescu, Zongmin Li, Keith Muchowski, Alexander Rozenblyum, Elizabeth Schaible, Hans Schoutens and Avis Smith, and Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Advancement Stephen Soiffer.

Speakers at a brief opening program included City Tech President Russell K. Hotzler, Provost Bonne August, and Deans Sonja Jackson, curriculum and instruction, Robin Bargar, technology and design, Pamela Brown, arts and sciences, and Barbara Grumet, professional studies.
